Last week, we celebrated our 20th annual HCZ Peace March. With 4,000 students, families, and staff marching together through the streets of Harlem, chanting and calling for peace, it was an inspiring demonstration of our commitment to keeping our children and our community safe.
Over the years, we have lost many kids to violence. The Peace March is the culmination of everything we do throughout the year to keep our kids safe and engaged, give them the tools to resolve conflict peacefully, and foster community throughout our 97-block Zone.
For our 12,000 youth, violence is not an option — and that's what gives all of us at HCZ peace.
